Late last year, the Federal Parliament passed a motion calling on MPs to consult with their constituents about whether Australia should allow same-sex couples to marry. It is vital that the Jewish community gets involved to show politicians that the majority of us support this important change. For more about marriage equality in Australia, please visit the Australian Marriage Equality website. If you are not Jewish but would like to say "I Do" to marriage equality, please click here.

"J4ME's primary goal is the legalisation of civil marriage in Australia for same-sex couples. Under the current Federal Marriage Act, same-sex marriages are illegal and those performed overseas are not recognised in Australia. J4ME has one objective: to repeal the ban and allow equal rights in marriage to same-sex couples, as equal Australian citizens.
We, the Jewish community, who know the price of discrimination and intolerance, should be the first to insist that marriage should be available to all Australians. Let's work together to end the discrimination against same-sex couples"
